Attributes

The Kyrgyz flag has a red field with a yellow sun in the middle with 40 rays, symbolic for 40 Kyrgyz folk tribes. In the center of the sun is a red circle crossed by 2 bundles of 3 yellow lines, which symbolize the roof of a traditional Kyrgyz "yurt". In the national anthem the freedom of Kyrgyz folk is praised. On the Kyrgyz emblem is the eagle as symbol for freedom, the sun above the mountains and lake, and grain and cotton.
